Jim Flegert was appointed an elder April 2005. Prior to this he served as a deacon over order of worship from April 1986.

Jim is employed by the Columbia County School District and is a teacher at Richardson Middle School. Jim has  been married to JoAnn for 36 years and they have two sons, Tony, who is employed at the Department of Transportation and Daniel who is currently a student at the Memphis School of Preaching training school.

 

Harold Herndon was appointed an elder July of 1981.

Harold is retired from Land O'Lakes/ Purina Feed after 40 years of service. Harold and his wife Linda Gail have been married 45 years. They have six children, eleven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Bud Parker was appointed an elder February of 1988.

Ryan Tuten is the local evangelist for the Lake City church of Christ in Lake City, Florida. Ryan completed preacher training at the Memphis School of Preaching, graduating in 1998. His first full-time preaching position was with the City Boulevard church of Christ in Waycross, Georgia, where he labored from 1998 to 2001. He then moved to his current position in Lake City where he has been since May 2001.

Ryan is also the guest speaker on several lectureships, youth days and holds many gospel meetings. He has done mission work in Russia, Malaysia, Brazil, Philippines, Nicaragua, Panama and other countries around the world.

He is married to Michelle and they have two children - Noah (9) and Chloe (6)

J. T. Brown comes to us from Mississippi.  There he worked as the full-time minister at the Jackson Grove church of Christ from 2005-2008.  He is a 2006 graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching and has participated in mission trips, gospel meetings, and youth events.

Robb Burns was appointed a deacon August of 1995. He works in our Education department. 

Robb was born in Ferndale Michigan and relocated to Lake City at the age of 9.  Robb is a University of Florida graduate with a degree in Business Administration (Finance).  He was also a 4 year letterman with the UF golf team.  Robb has been employed with First Federal Savings Bank of Florida since 1997 as a Mortgage Loan Officer. Robb previously served as chairman of the Columbia County Planning and Zoning Board.   Robb has been married to Paula Crews Burns since 1988.  They have two daughters, Heather (12) and Hannah (10).

John Paul Crews was appointed a deacon August 1995. He works in our church service departments assigning Ushers and Greeters each week and doing directory work for our congregation. 

John Paul works for the Florida Department of Transportation and is also a Volunteer with the Columbia County Fire Service and has been for 22 years.  He is married to Rhonda Jones Crews and they have two children, a son, John Jr. and a daughter Tamber. 

Wallace was appointed a deacon on October 8, 2008. His duties include visitation and work teams.

Scott Gilmer was appointed a deacon November 2006. He works in our education department, assigning teachers and ordering Bible class materials.

Scott is the son of Glenn & Betty Gilmer of Lake City, Florida. Scott was born in Topeka, Kansas and relocated to North Florida at the age of 2 years old. Scott has been a Columbia County resident since 1971. Scott has been happily married to Mary Anne Dickey-Gilmer since 1987. Scott & Mary Anne have two sons, Jared (17) and Alex (14). Scott has been actively involved with his sons. He has served the community as a baseball, football, soccer and basketball coach over the years, and is currently supporting his sons activities at Fort White High School through the Football Boosters, Basketball Boosters and Baseball Boosters.

Dale was appointed a deacon on October 5, 2008. His duties include working with the youth and media. Dale has been married to Lisa (Bell) for over 25 years, and has two sons Andrew and Chris. Andrew is married to Kirstin (Dewitt), Chris is a Senior at CHS.

 

Ralph Rowand was appointed a deacon July 1990. He also serves as our treasurer.

Lawton Skipper was appointed a deacon December 1983. He works in our benevolence department.

Ken Stark was appointed a deacon July 1990. He works in maintaining our buildings and grounds.

Ken has been teaching at Columbia High School for 30 years. Ken's wife Anita, teaches kindergarten at Eastside Elementary. Ken and Anita have two children, a son, Lance, who lives in Sanford working for a sprinkler repair company, and a daughter Lacey, who is in college at FSU.

Janie was born October 29, 1955 to Melvin and Ann Barker of Lake City, Florida. She is married to William "Jack" Castillo of Lake City, and Janie and Jack have two children, William J. Castillo Jr. and Sherry Lee (Jesse) Hopper. Janie has been a member of the church of Christ since October, 1967, and has been the church secretary since May 1991. Her husband Jack has worked for the City of Lake City for 36 + years.
